28.03.2025 (1): Blown Off-Course

I was completely blown off-course today in terms of reading because of my ex. She did something very reasonable which made me rather sad nevertheless, so I looked for books about breakups. The list on Electric Lit recommended The Sea, The Sea but I'd already read that so I read The End of the Story by Lydia Davis. It's bracingly unornamented. I think the closest analogue I've read is Sarah Manguso's Liars, only with more descriptions of the landscape (and more importance placed on it). I'm really liking it so far.
