Finished The Victorian Chaise-Lounge, which was very well written and terrified me a little with the whole 'living in a dead person's body' thing, and the whole ecstasy as shunting oneself out of time. I read it as a kind of shared dying dream, and that part where Melanie communes with Milly very briefly was spooky. There's also a lot to read in it about women and being diminished and being punished for doing and wanting ordinary things. I guess the stain on the chaise-lounge was her (their) blood.
As for writing: I don't think I'll pooh-pooh my original fiction writing. It could coalesce into something yet. At the same time, though, I'm worried it'll make writing for my WIPs (planned, large things) a chore. I'll just have to fight that tendency.

My impression:
- A student at the back laughing sardonically at her nation's history.
