23.05.2025 (1): Day Five
Day five and still a scratchy throat, a dead languidness. I finished Who Will Run the Frog Hospital? and was surprised by how pretty it was. Will wrote more on it soon. Indeed a very dressy novel but a very pretty one like a painted porcelain. You have to unwrap the sentences very carefully and my fear is that because I read it when I was sick I was denied the force of it hitting me. But that's not true; and anyway I can read it again.
I think the cover shouldn't be moody and gloomy like a 2000s novel cover, it should be cheesy and weird like a proper 1990s novel. There's a weird one probably from the 90s of a bunch of branches and I'd love to have that version.
As for writing: I think the perfectionism sickness is on me again and it's not even doing anything good this time. So I have escaped to my looser original fiction.
