Day 61.2: Poisonwood Bible
Of course the moment I wrote I was going to read Flannery O'Connor I got distracted by the thick, thick spine of The Poisonwood Bible and started reading that instead. I'm told that it was a very popular book - I guess one of those big cottage paperbacks you get when you're on a holiday, which these days get made into television series on Netflix or whatever. I'm not a big fan of TV series honest. Things are too in your face sometimes. So when The Poisonwood Bible gets televised I'll just reread the book again.
Also I have Little-Women brain so I tried to match up the 4 sisters in the book with the 4 sisters in the other book. Leah is Jo (clearest analogue so far), Rachel is Meg (with Amy's malapropisms and some of her spoiltness too, though with less French), Adah is Jo (but cooler), and Ruth May is that little baby girl who died and gave Beth scarlet fever. I think one of them will die.
