Day 108.1: Aww Stoner

I am by no means a maternal person, but the bit in Stoner where Stoner realizes how much Grace (his daughter) means to him, what with his wife distant and colleagues distant and no friends and all - I found that really touching. The parts where Grace sits watching Stoner do his job, correct student papers and such, with a 'solemnity', touched me in strange ways. I realize that Grace is not a fussy child and in actuality she would be bawling and being demanding (in the way children are), but it's still such a nice respite from the barrenness of Stoner's life. I hope Grace continues to be a warm presence.

Was especially touched by the 'seriousness' of the father-daughter conversation. It's sweet!
