Day 110.1: Diversion 'Something I've Been Meaning To Tell You'
Taking a short break from Stoner and taking up Something I've Been Meaning To Tell You by Alice Munro, for a story or two. A bit of an odd duck, this. I don't think any of the stories have been included in any of Munro's Best Of collections. The titular first story is very good Munro, if a little evasive - that same revelatory feeling, and the flashes of personality like 'love' not being a soft word, instead tearing. Et is a rather cruel person. The 'something' in the title is intended, maybe, to assassinate her sister finally, and she does intend to kill her sister a second time.
Strange to say but the attempted suicide was really warm and funny. And then after that Et just repeatedly stabs her sister.
