Day 156.1: Early Day Done and Writing
I think I did rather well today. I worked on one scene and felt that strange effortful pain I always get when I'm properly contemplating a scene, where I'm reaching for the right imagery, with the right mood: when I have an aim, really, which is not a given. Of course this habit of flabbiness is bad and I'm trying to pare it down. I'm surprised that I was able to summon this much wherewithal despite having worked from 4 am till 12 pm on a Saturday, but that's an encouraging sign of passion. I really hope this develops into an obsession.
In other news today I joined a drabble session! Wasn't happy with my drabble but that's the point I think. I also received a very sweet comment on my fic, which is always a highlight and hugely affirming. I should really, really get on commenting.
Got a new appreciation of paragraphs too, today. Funny that I have to be told multiple times to get into that 'frame' of appreciation, rather than mere (ugh I hate this word) consumption.
