06.02.2025 (1): Wrote Finally
Wrote finally a bit of a scene between Reisen and Sanae, where Reisen contemplates the lack of religious violence in her society and then states outright that actually god-on-human violence is okay. I really like when Reisen says stuff like this. Also read quite a lot of Elizabeth Taylor's A Game of Hide and Seek and it's rather clearer this time around, helped greatly by the book (as opposed to the e-book's) inclusion of the author's paragraph spaces. I think it's definitely less picturesque than A View of the Harbor, but I really like Harriet, and I think Mrs. Taylor's determination to spotlight the lonely life of a shop-girl is amazing and deft. I wonder if Anita Brookner took some notes out of it - Julia definitely seems Brooknerian. Also fell in love with The Lark Ascending. An otherwise very tough week workwise.
