I spent a nice, long day planning my next AU chapter (I really need to get a move on with my crackship...)Did not get much writing done at all, but I think I have the chapter's main aims sorted out, for this draft anyway: Reisen finally taking her first step towards having friends in this weird jungle of earth, being inducted into the conspiracy at last.
I mostly flitted between two things today: general reading-up about Nagano Prefecture, and then planning Aunn's room. I think her room will be quite long. I do think I need to think better about the emotions in this chapter, and how I'll deal with Sanae and Aunn's light politicking about Akyuu's birthday treats. A bit apprehensive to write this chapter since I haven't found that emotional spark yet.
I also finished You'll Enjoy It When You Get There. Definitely the best of Elizabeth Taylor's short stories, though I must say I really love her novels better. She has an extraordinary facility in summarizing things in a few sentences (short story yay) but I think she really shines when she's set up her characters and allowed them to act out their loneliness. For that reason I really enjoyed her longer stories, like Summer Schools and Miss A. and Miss M. (though I don't think I got the entirety of that last one...)
