04.04.2025 (2): Sleepwalking A Bit

sunshowerdandelionI worked on my non-AU WIP, that is my crackfic, and made just a little headway. Very little headway, in fact. I was sleepwalking, by which I mean I edited done sections and tried to wriggle a word or two here etc. Definitely necessary work, but it feels like a slog.
The Sherwood Anderson style I think is very good when you have a clear goal. It doesn't tolerate much waffling, because the prose is a bit sluggish and wordy, which is a challenge for me since I very much love waffling. The style feels like maneuvering an unwieldy but beautiful vehicle into place - maybe trying to parallel park with it. I have succumbed to a few of my own stuff but I think I keep things moving.
Maybe a paragraph-to-paragraph plan is needed for the style...
