Started Annie Ernaux's The Years and gosh is it a masterpiece. It is a masterpiece. She crams so many details right in there & is so great with history - this is history! My life is history!
Finished watching Shogun. It's apparently based on a novel which I would not have thought of reading before the series.
Wrote a new way forward for my AU chapter! I think I'm going to hone in on Reisen wanting to find a home. This is the emotional spine of the chapter, along with her thinking that she needs to be less cheerful. Also the spat between Sanae and Aunn (it's not really a spat).
Really would have loved to read more The Years but I had work-angst. I need to keep an even keel with work, I think, but currently it is rather impossible. But we'll see.
