I think there's a finite and small amount of queer fiction that doesn't take place in the United States or Europe, and I'm always delighted and surprised when I find one that deals with how difficult it is to be queer in other places. There should be more and more of books like Cantoras.
I didn't write anything good or elegant today. I mostly read The Elementals, which is a really nice and smooth read. I had a wonderful bit of tunnel focus today, reading an old yuri manga called Maya's Funeral Procession. Despite being really sentimental and strange, I thought it made for an emotional read.
