I think I'm getting to know Del's voice:She's flinty and quite dramatic, omits certain words, tries to flow when she's gotten the hang of things. I still haven't pinned down that elusive total effect, the mood of her writing. I think she's too dramatic (I'll need to have her joke, and she has I think a fairly cutting sense of humor). But I'm worrying and worrying about Del and her sister, worrying and tweaking details, so the life of this WIP is more than assured.
Also, I finished Two or Three Things I Know For Sure, and it was quite good. I loved, of all things, how she described the men in her life, and also her first love, and how that turned out. I also loved the sense of silence all around, how the book, as she says, is knit around silence.
