I had a very fun time reading about writing today, and then trying out the stuff I read (sort of). I did start on the cohering I mentioned yesterday. I also got quite cross with Charles Arrowby off The Sea, The Sea and decided to read instead something familiar: Hotel du Lac, by Anita Brookner, and that book's Edith Hope. I cried when I read Lizzie's first letter in the former, and I cried when I read Edith's first 'letter' in the latter, so it evens out somewhat.

I should watch more Soviet-era Russian films.
