Day 223.2: Alice Angst and Subjunctives!

• I felt quite forlorn today, but I managed to write a fairly patient scene about Alice regretting things. This will be her dominant motivation now: regret. I want the reader to be aware that Alice (in her breakup state) will use the ingredients of her everyday observations to fuel more regret, and that her goal will be to stop regretting.
• In this scene, Alice, who earlier observed Keine's hands (they have a two-toned color) turns that observation into a way to blame herself.
• I'm trying to summon my favorite mood: the subjunctive! It's so great.
