09.04.2025 (1): Ghostly Detour

sunshowerdandelionDecided to spend today procrastinating on reading The End of the Story by reading The House Next Door by Anne Rivers Siddons, which is great so far. I'm liking Colquitt since she's very much a Frank off Revolutionary Road in that she thinks herself rather knowing but is not. The novel is very gothic and the house is very much a character, but I really like how it's a little off-focus because Colquitt is so darned comfortable with her life. Very interested in seeing how it all tips over.
Nothing overtly spooky yet except dead animals. I wonder if it'll be a The Little Stranger type of thing or an out and out fright-fest. Hoping it's the latter!
