sunshowerdandelionGosh I'd planned for today to not have any writing in it but it's true that it's a compulsion sometimes.The moment I opened my document I was itchy with the need to edit and fit in. I think I have my chapter now, maybe, after a month of (very lazily) piecing things together. The pieces don't hold up - I'm pretty sure they don't - but that's where the editing needs to be stuffed in even though it is very much like pulling teeth for me (sometimes). I think I have the rudiments of a buildup here. I do.
Also, too much work dulls the brain. I really want to be what Tonio Kroger says writers should be, and not (in that story) a dilettante but I do have to work sometimes, unfortunately. Yesterday, I saw Emily the Criminal and I think what it says about living as someone who draws or writes is basically true: You'd need a criminal habit to support it. Also I've been listening to the soundtrack of Clair-Obscur.
