21.09.25 (1): Monkey Hug
Sep. 21st, 2025 09:44 pmI spent most of today reading Monkey Grip, Helen Garner's story about loving an addictive substance addict, when I should have been reading about a Korean poet. Something about her writing is addictive - but maybe it's my fascination with doomed loves. Also, I tried to sleep this afternoon but got so anxious I couldn't do it. I spent tonight talking about the 4B Movement and the Chosun Dynasty.
I did get writing done - what I thought was a pretty meaningful and significant turn in my writing, since today marks the end of my weird lopsided meandering sessions and getting back to seriously writing my AU. Not that the previous chapter was not serious - it's just that I skipped several steps of my usual process, because I had to be sent to the provinces.
Unfortunately, I lost volition tonight and ended up chatting for a really long time to people about horrid sexism. I do think that's okay though. Now it's raining heavily enough for me to sleep.
