sunshowerdandelionActs of Desperation is a tough, sinewy book, and I'm having trouble trying to break it down. The unnamed I is strange and complex and refuses to be pinned down. I do not think that that is the point of the book. I think the point of the book is that it's a worm's eye view perspective on her and her loves and why she is the way she is.
Like any real person, the more I try to love her, the more I dislike her. I think she is one of those doomed people, and the novel is her way of saying, See?
I wrote quite a bit today and yesterday, both on my 'horror' story. I think arranged marriage is horror enough with the foreclosing of Kosuzu's futures, but I'm going to put in a youkai in there somewhere.
