22.11.2025 (1): New Method

I'm trying out a new(ish) method of writing, which was my old method but with a little more time. I will draft various things and wait until the scenes are very well formed in my head, a la Flaubert's tableaus, before actually trying to write the definitive scene. I think this will work out because this is how I drafted my first stories, and they were always more alive when drafted this way.

I think I will have to treat my drafted notes as scaffolding, not as something rigid to follow. I think this was the flaw in my earlier plans.

I read more of The Narrow Road to the Deep North today and the juxtaposition between death and life was very marked in the scenes I read.
