sunshowerdandelionI finished Fun Home. I suspect a lot of the references flew above my head, but I did catch the bit about the last paragraph of Joyce's The Dead. I really think I picked up Icarian from this graphic novel, and I'm glad I did. The last panel of the graphic novel is wonderfully, wonderfully evocative, and I'm glad my relationship with my parents aren't that complex. I also got the title for my Kosuzu horror fic from reading Proust off it: Lilac Time Was Nearly Over.
Today I wrote more Kosuzu fic. I'm worried my tone is too consciously descriptive. I've mostly been drawing sketches to try to know Kosuzu better, and she's very earnest sometimes. I think she's mostly happy and self-contained, which is why this business with the miai is very troubling to her.
