04.02.2026 (1): New Friends!

I made a few new fandom friends and connected with some old ones. I wrote first thing in the morning, or at least had threads which I sat down to write. Night-writing today was choppy and night-reading was bad, but to be expected since I had to bring work home. Work is the writing-killer! I did not read more Dune, but instead finished a story from Open Secrets whose brilliance completely escaped me the first time I read it. Carried Away. Such submerged longing, and that last mistaken and impossible reconciliation. And that last paragraph about fresh starts nearly had me crying.

Now I'm taking up Elizabeth Bowen again. I wish I could read and read in supreme comfort, and not do anything else but write. No monkey's paws on that wish please!
