15.03.2026 (1): A Hunger for Horror

I think I'm in the mood for something melancholy and morose, and so I've started The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles. I think it fits thematically with Dune and I'm told they're about similar things: A loss of agency, and the seduction of that. I'm also still reading Thirst for Salt which is proving to be nicely melancholy. The Sheltering Sky will supply the morose.

I'm told it's a New Weird novel too. Writing-wise, today I tried to start a new chapter of the AU and already something feels false.
