sunshowerdandelion | Day 227.1: New Technique!

I'm experimenting with trying to find three things before I write. I think, as always, my mistake is that I'm jumping into things without looking in. So now I must look in.

'Sympathy' (for my characters. Sometimes I write without putting myself in their frame of mind, and then the writing gets confused. This encompasses my letting-go of cynicism as well.)
'Achronicity' (I have to get into the right sort of mind, where I don't count my minutes and hours and treat writing as a chore to be done with. Where the 'deadlines' are only the scaffolding. I guess this could be called focus, but this requires a sort of abandonment of my productivity-brain.)
'Rhythm' (I have to find the rhythm to a certain part of the story. This is rather difficult on most days, but when I do find it, I can't go wrong with the words.)

I tried this today and it was a tentative success. I obviously planned more than usual, and that was very pleasant, I had the experience of thinking up nice lines again to put in my fic. The rhythm part was incredibly essential: reading my work the past few days, they feel a little rhythm-less. The AU is better in this respect because I can trust my rhythm for Reisen, but the Alice fic is suffering. Tomorrow, I will reiterate my rhythm.
